The Council of Ministers Tuesday added three specialties to the list of specialties in professions with expected shortages on the labour market for the 2025/2026 academic year:  repair of electronic instrumentation of aviation equipment; gas engineering; and beekeeping and silk farming. The changes to the list were proposed by the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Bulgarian Natural Gas Association, and the National Bee Branch Association.

The update enables the provision of personnel for areas of priority for the development of the country's economy. Students from eighth to tenth grade receive scholarships if they choose such specialties. Schools receive additional funding from the budget and the possibility of forming small classes with 12 pupils instead of 26, as is the case with regular classes.

There are no changes to the list of State-protected specialties.
