site.btaNatural Gas Price Down by 14.2% in May

The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission set the price of natural gas for May at BGN 64.40/MWh - excluding access, transmission, excise and VAT prices, the regulator said. Bulgargaz sells natural gas at this price to final suppliers and to persons who have been issued a licence for production and transmission of heat.
The regulator approved the price after an analysis of the actual data submitted by Bulgargaz, forming the natural gas price for May. The initial price proposal was 64.95/MWh, but it was further reduced by BGN 0.55/MWh. Thus, the approved price for May is 14.22% lower compared with the price for April.
The price of natural gas for April was set at 75.08 BGN per MWh - excluding access, transmission, excise and VAT.
The price mix for the next month includes the entire contracted amount of Azeri natural gas supplied via the Bulgaria-Greece Interconnector (IGB), according to the long-term contract with Azerbaijan. These volumes cover a significant part of consumption and are important to achieve a favourable price. "Bulgargaz has secured LNG for May under previously concluded contracts with traders, following a tender with minimum delivery price requirements and a proposed payment method.
The secured quantities cover the public supplier's commitments for May - to end-suppliers and district heating companies, as well as the quantities under bilateral contracts with industrial customers, the statement added.
