Thirty sites on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast will receive the Blue Flag certificate in 2025, the Bulgarian Blue Flag Movement reported.
As the representative for Bulgaria of the Blue Flag Programme, Bulgaria's national movement received the results of the meeting of the international jury of the Programme in Copenhagen, which considered the applications for the award in tourism and decided which world beaches, ports and tourist ships to be awarded in 2025. Jury members include representatives from the UN Environment Programme, United Nations World Tourism Organization, UNESCO, European Environment Agency, International Life Saving Federation, International Council of Marine Industry Associations, European Network for Accessible Tourism, and the Foundation for Environmental Education.
Bulgaria's first Blue Flag was hoisted at Sunny Beach, near Europa Hotel, on July 4, 1995.
