Inflation in Bulgaria has halved in the period the caretaker cabinet has been in power, according to a report of the Economy and Industry Ministry on its activities under the management of caretaker minister Nikola Stoyanov.

The Economy Ministry reports that inflation has been steadily declining for seven months so far. Official data for May 2023 is yet to be released, with the Economy Ministry forecasting that measured inflation will not exceed 10%, meaning a double dip compared to its levels under the previous regular government.

Fuel prices are reported to have fallen by more than 25% since caretaker cabinet took office in August 2022. A series of measures have also been taken regarding food prices, with first positive signs being seen in the market. An information system has been set up to bring together the information collected by the institutions. Any citizen can consult the prices of products at any stage in that system, the Economy ministry also said.

The report also said that the dialogue with the business sector has been restored and built upon. A direct link was established with representatives of foreign businesses in Bulgaria, and every month minister Stoyanov held meetings within the Breakfast with Investors initiative. The construction of the first specialized industrial zone in Bulgaria in Dobroslavtsi has started.
