An international forum on hydrogen technologies will be held at Trakia University in Stara Zagora on May 28-29, the university announced.

The event, titled Hydrogen for Clean Power and Mobility, will bring together scientists, researchers, industry experts, and business representatives from Bulgaria and abroad. The forum will focus on hydrogen technologies as an opportunity for the development of clean energy, sustainable industry, and mobility.

The forum is part of the activities under the project Development of Scientific Research and Innovation at Trakia University in the Service of Health and Sustainable Well-being, implemented within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan and funded under the Education Programme 2021-2027. The event is also linked to the H2START project, a Centre of Excellence in Hydrogen Technologies, carried out with the participation of the university, the Bulgarian Association for Hydrogen, Fuel Cells, and Energy Storage, and international partners.

The programme features speakers from Italy, France, Germany, the UK, China, Greece, and Bulgaria, all representatives of universities, research organizations, and companies working in the field of hydrogen technologies. The first day of the forum will be dedicated to a hydrogen masterclass, during which topics related to the production, storage, transport, and application of hydrogen in the energy sector and industry will be presented.

On the second day, new developments and scientific research in the fields of electrolysis, fuel cells, hydrogen infrastructure, and mobility will be presented. The programme will focus on low-emission transportation solutions, new materials, and practical demonstrations.

The forum will feature a demonstration of a hydrogen-powered vehicle, a presentation on hydrogen applications in rail transport, a modular test bench for hydrogen equipment, and poster sessions with the participation of young scientists and researchers.

Participation is free of charge, and certificates will be provided to all registered participants.
