In the first quarter of 2026, the number of newly registered legal entities in the country was 12,435, and those declared bankrupt - 1,027. Compared to the same quarter of 2025, the total number of newly registered companies increased by 1.9%, while the number of bankruptcies decreased by 5.9%, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) reported on Friday.

Compared to the fourth quarter of 2025, newly registered legal entities increased by 7.2%, and those entering insolvency/bankruptcy proceedings, including those declared bankrupt, decreased by 17.9%.

According to NSI data, in the fourth quarter of 2025, the number of newly registered companies was 11,596, while those entering insolvency/bankruptcy proceedings, including those declared bankrupt, were 1,251.

In the first quarter of 2026, the companies from sector G - "Trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles" had the largest relative share of both newly registered and bankrupt companies - 86.0% and 87.8%, respectively.
