site.btaEBRD Forecasts GDP Growth Deceleration to 2.9% in Bulgaria in 2025, Expects 2.7% in 2026 and 2.6% in 2027
Bulgaria's real GDP growth remained robust in 2025 at an estimated 2.9%, according to European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) data in a report released on Thursday. Growth is projected at 2.7% in 2026 and 2.6% in 2027.
Compared with the projection made in September 2025, forecasts for the previous year represent a 0.3 percentage point downward, whereas there is a minimal growth of a 0.1 percentage point for 2026.
Forecasts for the south-eastern EU region are 1.4% in 2025, unchanged from last September. It is expected to remain broadly at this level in 2026 before picking up to 2.3 per cent in 2027.
EBRD revised its overall forecasts for the regions in which it invests, covering 35 countries across Central and Eastern Europe to Central Asia, as well as the southern and eastern Mediterranean region.
The growth momentum across the EBRD's regions is expected to be sustained with growth forecast to pick up to 3.6 per cent in 2026 and 3.7 per cent in 2027. This represents a 0.2 percentage point upward revision for 2026 compared with the projection made in September 2025.
