Bulgaria ranked third among European Union member states in terms of the monthly decline in construction output in December 2025, with production falling by 2.3% compared to November, according to the latest preliminary estimates from Eurostat. Larger drops were recorded only in Austria (9.2%) and Slovenia (3.2%).

The strongest monthly increases in construction output were registered in Hungary (6.6%), Poland (5.1%), and Slovakia (4.0%).

Overall, seasonally adjusted construction production in December rose by 0.9% in the euro area and by 1.2% in the European Union as a whole, compared with November. In the previous month, November, a decline of 1.5% had been reported in both regions.

On an annual basis, compared with December 2024, construction output decreased by 0.9% in the euro area, while it remained stable in the EU.

For the whole of 2025, average construction production showed no change in the euro area, while in the EU it increased by 0.5% compared with 2024.
