For the fourth consecutive year, the Borovets resort will host the Dr. Emil Iliev International Jazz Festival. It will take place from August 1 to 6, the organizers said.
This edition will be directed at Bulgarian performers/musicians, some of them celebrating anniversaries. The Big Bend of the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) has its 65th anniversary in 2025.
During this year's edition of the forum, a recently released album with plays and performances by the late Vasko Parmakov will be released.
Fans of jazz music this year will enjoy performances by the BNR Big Bend, Orlin Pavlov, Danaya Aleksandrova, Dirty Loops, Classic Art and Veronica Todorova, Nguyen Le Trio, Triplet Trio, Zone C, Miroslav Ivanov, Los Pasos.
There will also be a summer jazz academy for children.
Prof. Bozhidar Manov and the artist Yassen Grigorov will present their children’s book for children. Prof. Aksiniya Dzhurova will open an art exhibition of works by Georgi Georgiev.
The organizers pointed out that this edition launches a new, lasting initiative - the screening of documentaries related to jazz and performers, as well as discussions with the creative team behind them.
