Bulgarian National Radio Folk Orchestra to Close Its Concert Season

The Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) Folk Orchestra, conducted by Dimitar Hristov, will close its concert season with an event at Studio 1 on June 12, BNR said. This has been the orchestra’s 72nd creative season.

The programme includes premiere performances from the orchestra's latest recorded repertoire - “a programme that blends deep-rooted tradition with the artistic drive of today’s performers”, the organizers said.

The concert will feature works by some of the most notable composers in the genre, including Borislav Zgurovski, Gancho Gavazov, Stoyan Paurov, Peyo Peev, Yordan Danev, Kostadin Genchev, Martin Vladimirov, and Dimitar Hristov.

Distinguished and charismatic soloists who will bring fresh nuance to a variety of folk dialects. These include Vanya Drumeva, Tatyana Stoyanova, Mister Velev, and Gergana Dimitrova.

Inspiring instrumentalists will also take the stage, including tambura player Stoyan Chalganov, gadulka players Mihailcho Atanasov and Nikolay Petrov, and kaval player Nenko Tsachev.
