The exhibition “The Beauty of the Orthodox Spirit: Rare Old-Printed Books and Engravings from the Library of the Rila Monastery (16th–19th Century)” will officially open on May 8 in the main foyer of the Sts. Cyril and Methodius National Library. The exhibition is organized by the Rila Monastery and the University of Library Studies and Information Technologies, according to the website of the Bulgarian Patriarchate.

Organizers note that the exhibition presents rare examples from the rich spiritual and literary heritage of the Rila Monastery, preserved over the centuries—Slavic old-printed books and engravings that testify to the beauty and depth of the Orthodox tradition.

The exhibition will be open from May 8 to May 29, 2025, at the National Library. From May 8 to May 10, it will be displayed in the library’s main foyer, and starting May 12, it will be moved to the exhibition foyer on the second floor (excluding Saturdays and Sundays).

The exhibition is part of the project titled The Collection of Slavic Cyrillic Printed Books in the Library of the Rila Monastery (Research and Scientific Description in an e-Environment).
