Orpheus (Ivan Vazov National Theatre) won the Ikar Award for Best Drama Production at Monday's awards ceremony at the National Theatre. The Best Actor in a Leading Role Award went to Vladimir Penev for Konstantin Iliev's Easter Wine (directed by Javor Gardev, National Theatre). Svetlana Yancheva is the Best Actress in a Leading Role in Samuel Beckett's Happy Days (directed by Margarita Mladenova, Theatre-Laboratory Sfumato).
The awards are conferred by the Union of Bulgarian Actors. The event was hosted by actor Philip Avramov.
The Debut Award went to director Kristina Belomorska for Morphine (Yalta Art Room), based on Mikhail Bulgakov's eponymous mini-novel.
