More than 200 individual and group creative projects from nine countries will be presented at the international exhibition installation With Glagolitic Script Around the World, which will open at 11:30 a.m. on September 9 in the Marble Foyer of the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) in Sofia, the Executive Agency for Bulgarians Abroad (EABA), the event organizer, told BTA on Tuesday.
The exhibition is part of an international scientific and artistic project exploring the Glagolitic script as a symbol of Bulgarian spirituality, cultural memory and identity. It features works by members of Bulgarian communities in Turkiye, Denmark, Greece, the United Kingdom, Italy, Ireland, Canada and the United States, as well as students and artists from Bulgaria.
Children and young people from Bulgarian schools and communities abroad are among the participants. The exhibition was initiated and curated by Mira Kopanarov, a Bulgarian artist from Toronto, Canada.
With Glagolitic Script Around the World presents the Glagolitic script as a living symbol connecting Bulgarians across generations and distances, the EABA said. The exhibition is organized with BNR's support and with the academic support of the Cyrillo-Methodian Research Centre at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
