The amount raised in the 23rd edition of the Bulgarian Christmas charity initiative, held under the auspices of President Rumen Radev, has already reached over BGN 3,720,000, the press office of the head of State said on Friday. 

The campaign is dedicated to chronically and seriously ill children and will continue until the end of November 2026. To date, 250,000 donation SMS text messages have been sent to 1117. 

Applications for assistance for children are accepted throughout the year, and applications for equipment for medical facilities are accepted until January 31, 2026.

On Christmas Day, a charity concert was held at the Ivan Vazov National Theater as part of the initiative. It brought together popular Bulgarian performers and young musical talents. The concert was held for the 23rd consecutive year and took place under the auspices of President Rumen Radev and his wife, Desislava Radeva, who attended the event.

With the participation of the Bulgarian National Radio Big Band, conducted by Georgi Miltiyadov, the stage of the National Theatre featured the Radio Children Vocal Group of BNR, singers Veselin Marinov, Poli Genova, the band D2, Maria Ilieva, Elizabet, Vasil Petrov and the children’s vocal group Mickey Mouse, Radko Petkov, Stefan Ilchev, Nevena Peykova, the children’s vocal group Bon-Bon, among others.

The charity concert was hosted by actors Daniel Varbanov and Aleksandra Lashkova.
