Bulgaria has no issue with the role of women as scientists, innovators, managers, and entrepreneurs, and no one in Bulgarian society is surprised when a professor or engineer turns out to be a woman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Innovation and Growth Tomislav Donchev said during a roundtable discussion Women in Innovation held at the Planet Schwarz Tech Theater and organized by the Ladies' Forum association. "Nevertheless, our society must continue to fight against prejudice," he added.

According to Donchev, women have the same rights and talents to innovate as men do. To support this claim, he referred to the achievements of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS), where women are strongly represented.

He called for greater confidence and self-assurance at the forum.

A special participant in the forum was EU Commissioner for Startups, Research, and Innovation Ekaterina Zaharieva.
