Bulgaria's Parliament will once again debate, at second reading, the amendments to the State Agency for National Security Act which were vetoed by the President. This is the first item on Thursday's agenda.
The MPs also resolved to add a new item: second reading of amendments to the Protection of Competition Act. The Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria (CC–DB) Parliamentary Group objected to this addition, as, according to MP Nadejda Iordanova, the amendments were approved at the committee stage only the previous day, the lawmakers have not had time to peruse them, and many proposed changes were rejected.
Aleksandar Ivanov MP of GERB–UDF explained that last week a working group reviewed all proposals, including the rejected ones, and that some of the CC–DB motions were included. All procedures under the parliamentary rules have been followed, and the texts can be discussed later on Thursday, he emphasized.
A second reading of the Bill to Amend and Supplement the Cadastre and Property Register Act is also on the National Assembly agenda for Thursday.
