Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Zafirov is on an official visit to Armenia at the invitation of Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan from September 20 to 23, the Cabinet’s press service said on Tuesday. In the capital Yerevan, Zafirov and delegation held a working meeting with Khachatryan and Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan.
Zafirov expressed his gratitude to his colleague Khachatryan and praised Hayrapetyan for the results achieved following his visit to Sofia in July in connection with the ninth session of the Bulgarian-Armenian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation. The meeting discussed the opportunities for Bulgaria to contribute by cooperating in initiatives of mutual interest in the fields of scientific research, technology, energy, and the military-industrial complex.
Later, the Bulgarian delegation visited the TUMO Technology Centre. It offers a free educational programme for teenagers focused on technology and design. Students there are responsible for their own education, with a personalized plan based on their interests and pace, and the only condition for admission is that children must be at least 12 years old. The centre is equipped with modern facilities, including recording studios, cinemas, and high-tech workshops, and the goal is to bridge the gap between education and industry by fostering a community of creative and innovative young people, empowering Armenian teenagers to shape their future.
The last day of the Bulgarian delegation’s visit, foresees a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and a visit to the high-tech engineering city in Yerevan.
