Presenting the new season of Sofia Theatre at a BTA-hosted news conference here on Tuesday, Theatre Director Iriney Konstantinov said: "This is the strongest performance of a theater season. From now on, all other media outlets will receive information and report on it. So there is movement on Bulgaria's theater map – what is happening and where."
BTA Director General Kiril Valchev said that since the agency signed a partnership agreement with Sofia Theatre in 2021, publications about the theatre have been on the rise. While there were between one and two publications per year in 2015-2019, there have been 25 publications related to Sofia Theatre since the beginning of this year alone.
Talking about the upcoming premiere of Hercules Vs Augeas, Konstantinov said: "The wonderful form of cabaret performance has been found, where everything is allowed, everything is permitted, where anything can be said and we can have fun with anything, including politics – this exists in the play and it is very entertaining. Because every problem in society that annoys any of us can be shared in some way by watching the performance. Many things are said in both a philosophical and comical way by the actors, who are wonderful on stage."
According to Valchev, for sixty years, Sofia Theatre has been doing what theatre is all about: channeling public energy in a creative direction to improve our common life in Bulgaria.
