On Monday, Sofia is marking the 117th anniversary of the declaration of Bulgaria's Independence, Sofia Municipality said.
The celebrations start at 11 am in Prince Alexander I Square with the participation of the National Guards Unit, the Sofia Brass Band conducted by Vasil Deliev, the Slavey Quartet, a folk concert and horo chain dances.
September 22 was declared an official holiday by the 38th National Assembly on September 10, 1998.
Veliko Tarnovo is the centre of Monday's celebrations of the 117th anniversary of the Proclamation of Bulgaria's Independence.
