Opening the school year at Sofia’s First English Language School on Monday, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev told journalists he would not comment on the new no-confidence motion against the government of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov.

“On this really wonderful Bulgarian holiday, the holiday of our children, I’d rather we didn’t preoccupy ourselves with no-confidence motions that are doomed to fail, or other problems of the day,” the President said.

On September 12, MPs of Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria and MECh moved for a vote of no-confidence in the government over its alleged failure in the field of internal order, security and justice and over a perceived state capture.
