Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev met Asaf Hajiyev, Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC), the ministry said in a press release on Wednesday.

The focus of the conversation was on Bulgaria's Chairmanship-in-Office of the Organisation of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) by the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry and the chairing of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) by the Bulgarian National Assembly.

Minister Georgiev emphasized the importance of this responsibility and expressed confidence that good coordination between the institutions will contribute to achieving concrete results in strengthening cooperation in the Black Sea region.

Georgiev and Hajiyev discussed upcoming events within the BSEC, including preparations for the 66th PABSEC General Assembly, which will be held in Sofia on November 23-25.

At the end of the meeting, Secretary General Hajiyev invited Minister Georgiev to visit Istanbul before the end of the year, voicing his readiness to deepen cooperation between the two institutions.
