The mountains: Mostly sunny in the morning. More clouds over the Rhodopes and Strandzha in the afternoon with brief thundery showers mainly in the Rhodopes. Strong west-northwesterly wind, temporarily gale-force on the high ridges. Highs: 18C at 1,200 m, 13C at 2,000 m.

Outlook: Predominantly sunny over the weekend. On Sunday the northwesterly wind will weaken; on Monday it will shift to east-southeasterly. Highs: 25C to 30C.
