Flights by drones, other unmanned aircraft and piloted aircraft will be banned around the Unification Monument in Plovdiv from 4:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on September 6, Plovdiv Municipality’s press service said on Wednesday.

The restriction, imposed for celebrations marking the 141st anniversary of the Unification of Bulgaria and Plovdiv Day, will cover a 1,000 m radius around the monument and extend to a height of 1,000 m. It will not apply to aircraft taking off from or landing at Plovdiv Airport.

During the military tattoo and fireworks display on September 6, people who are intoxicated or behaving aggressively, as well as anyone carrying bulky luggage, firearms, pyrotechnic devices, sharp objects, glass bottles or similar items, will not be admitted to the area around Unification Square.

Plovdiv’s museums and galleries, as well as sites operated by the Ancient Plovdiv Municipal Institute, will offer free admission on September 6.
