Conditions are favourable for mountain tourism, the Mountain Rescue Service of the Bulgarian Red Cross said on Saturday.

Rescue workers recommend that visitors come prepared when visiting the mountains, bring a fully charged mobile phone, and wear suitable clothing.

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology forecasts mostly sunny conditions in the mountains, with cumulus clouds forming around midday and later.

Rain and thunder are expected in the Rila-Rhodope region and the western area of the Stara Planina. There will be a light to moderate east wind. Highs: 25C at 1,200 m and about 17C at 2,000 m.
