site.btaParliament to Review on Second Reading Amendments to Penal Code


The National Assembly will review on second reading amendments to the Penal Code later on Wednesday. This is the first item on the draft agenda published on Parliament's website. On July 18, the legislature voted on changes to the Penal Code that regulate the confiscation of assets acquired through criminal activity from third parties acting in bad faith.
Amendments to the Code of Criminal Procedure are also scheduled for a second reading. The agenda includes the second reading of the bill amending and supplementing the Introduction of the Euro in the Republic of Bulgaria Act. The draft legislation stipulates that measures against possible price speculation during the introduction of the euro in Bulgaria will remain in force until August 8, 2026.
Second reading of a bill amending the Recognition of Professional Qualifications Act is also on the National Assembly's agenda for the day.
