site.btaInterior Ministry Signs Memorandum of Cooperation with Transparency International Bulgaria

Interior Minister Daniel Mitov and Kalin Slavov, Executive Director of the Transparency International Bulgaria non-governmental organization, signed a memorandum of cooperation, the Interior Ministry said in a press release on Monday.

The agreement outlines key areas of collaboration, including building institutional capacity to enhance transparency, accountability, and integrity in the use of public funds. It also covers joint research, data exchange from national and international studies, and improved reporting mechanisms for law enforcement activities.

Another priority is strengthening the Ministry’s ability to counter violations of citizens' political rights.

During the signing ceremony, Mitov voiced confidence in the mutual benefits of the partnership. He emphasized the ministry’s reliance on the NGO’s expertise to boost efficiency, agility, and responsiveness in law enforcement.

A similar agreement was previously signed between the organization and the Ministry of Justice.
