Intensive work is underway on the project to build the Black Sea motorway, together with Turkiye and Romania, GERB leader Boyko Borisov told a briefing on Sunday. He attended the inspection of the treatment plant at the Yasna Polyana dam in the municipality of Primorsko together with Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, the ministers of energy and regional development, and mayors of municipalities in the Burgas region.

"We are talking about the entire section from Malko Tarnovo through Burgas and Varna to Durankulak. If we manage to complete the Hemus motorway connecting Tarnovo and Ruse by then, it will be a huge opportunity for business and tourism, for everything. This week, the whole of Europe stood behind Bulgaria, first, they accepted us into the eurozone, a dream of generations of Bulgarians, and then they accepted Bulgaria's position on the issue with North Macedonia. Zhelyazkov and Donchev renegotiated the recovery plan, which had been pending for four years, and all rating agencies raised Bulgaria's credit rating. The loans taken out by Bulgartransgaz have an interest rate of 2.5%. I think this is the most successful week for Bulgaria," Borisov said.

Regarding the arrest of Varna Mayor Blagomir Kotsov, he commented: "Since there is a court decision, since we have absolutely no connection to it, my only big question is why this day was chosen. And during the press conference we were holding on the eurozone, when the whole of Europe was congratulating us, someone put a spoonful of tar in our barrel of honey. That's all I can say. Because this person is to blame, if all the events had been held, it could have been earlier, it could have been a day later, but the day was chosen when Bulgaria achieved its greatest success."

In the context of the information announced by Continue the Change (CC) about a new vote of no confidence being prepared, Boyko Borisov said that CC are "absolutely unpredictable."
