site.btaLand Forces Works to Develop Core Capabilities using Stryker Combat Vehicles


An initial coordinating conference on the development of core capabilities of the Bulgaria’s and North Macedonia’s Land Forces in the use of Stryker combat vehicles was held from 9 to 11 July at the Central Military Club in Sofia. It was the first in a series of coordinating conferences on the development of capabilities for the Stryker combat vehicles and was also attended by representatives of the US Army, the Bulgarian Defence Ministry said in a press release on Friday.
The conference was opened by Land Forces Commander Major General Deyan Deshkov and held under the leadership of Deputy Chief of Staff for Resources Colonel Atanas Georgiev. The theme of the forum was related to the development of capabilities in the field of regulations, instructions and tactical publications, training and maintenance in the use of combat and support vehicles on Stryker base.
The forum was attended by servicemen from the Land Forces, representatives from the Vasil Levski National Military University, theG. S. Rakovski Military Academy, the Operations and Training Directorate and the Strategic Planning Directorate of the Ministry of Defence, representatives from the USA and the Republic of North Macedonia. The participants discussed the possibilities for future joint training and individual and collective drills in order to reach initial and full operational capabilities of the crews and formations. Attendees also visited the Koren Training Area and the Tulbe and Anevo training centres, where they were briefed on the opportunities for training and conducting firing and training with the Stryker combat vehicles.
