The fourth no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov’s cabinet over failures in the environment and water sector is scheduled for debate in the National Assembly on Wednesday. This is set out in the second item on the proposed parliamentary agenda published on the institution’s website. The fourth motion was tabled before the vote on the third no-confidence motion earlier in July. The fourth motion was tabled by the parliamentary group of Velichie, supported by MPs from Vazrazhdane and Moral, Unity, Honour (MECh).

According to parliamentary rules, the vote on a no-confidence motion cannot take place earlier than 24 hours after the debate has concluded. The proposed agenda foresees that the vote on the motion will be the first item on the draft programme for Friday.

Before the debate on the vote, MPs are expected to hold a first reading of proposed amendments to the Higher Education Act.

Parliament’s Thursday agenda includes first reading discussions on amendments to the Insurance Code. Second reading is expected for changes to the Law on the Recovery and Resolution of Credit Institutions and Investment Firms. A draft law amending and supplementing the International Commercial Arbitration Act is also due for first reading. A regular Question Time session is scheduled as well.
