The third motion for the cabinet of Rosen Zhelyazkov’s resignation, submitted last Friday at the initiative of Vazrazhdane with the support of Velichie and MECh, will be debated by the MPs on Thursday. The vote will take place 24 hours after the end of the debate.

The cabinet, supported by the current ruling coalition, is deepening fiscal imbalances and is not taking the necessary urgent measures to restore the sustainability of Bulgaria’s public finances, according to Vazrazhdane. The government is pursuing "incorrectly set goals, based on false statistical data, overly optimistic macroeconomic forecasts, and unrealistic expectations regarding tax revenue collection".

Asked to comment on the third no-confidence motion, GERB-UDF Deputy Floor Leader Kostadin Angelov told reporters that the motion is a standard procedure of the opposition. "We will hear their arguments, and we are sure that the government will survive," Angelov commented.

There Is Such a People Floor Leader Toshko Yordanov said that the opposition has the right to exercise itself with motions of no confidence, but they are meaningless, unjustified, and block the work of the National Assembly.

There must be a compelling reason that would not divert us from our European orientation, from the European Union, Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) MP Aleksandar Simidchiev said when asked by journalists whether they would support the third vote of no confidence in the Zhelyazkov cabinet.

Asked to comment on the third motion of no confidence, Lyubisha Blazhevski MP of Velichie told reporters in parliament that he expects the motion to pass. "This government should go, it is illegitimate," he added.
