Bulgarian Culture Week, dedicated to the Day of Bessarabian Bulgarians, will be held in Odesa from October 27 to November 1. At a news conference here on Wednesday, Bulgarian Consul General in Odesa Svetoslav Ivanov and Ivan Liptuga, Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Culture and Marketing of the city of Odesa, announced the events within the Bulgarian Culture Week. They described the week as a celebration of unity, friendship, and rich exchange of traditions.

The multicultural event is organized by the Department of International Cooperation, Culture and Marketing of the city of Odesa, the Consulate General of Bulgaria in Odesa, the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA), and the O. Salik Odesa Municipal Music Theatre.

The programme includes cultural and literary discussions, exhibitions, and a major concert featuring Bulgarian folk singer Iliya Lukov and Bulgarian ensembles from the Odesa region, Liptuga said.

The Consulate General has also planned several more concerts with Iliya Lukov in the Odesa region next week, Ivanov said. “Bessarabian Bulgarians live in both Ukraine and Moldova. I would like to highlight the exceptional support BTA has provided in this regard. The first concert will take place in Taraclia, Moldova, on October 29. On October 30 and 31, concerts will be held in the city of Bolhrad and the village of Vasilevka. Another major concert will take place in the city of Odesa on November 1, Ivanov added.
