site.btaVelichie: MRF Has Turned into Major Aggressor together with GERB

Velichie leader Ivelin Mihaylov accused the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) of shifting from protecting the disadvantaged to acting as a major aggressor alongside GERB. Speaking in Parliament, he called on Bulgarian Muslims to find the strength to resist repression, as they did in 1989 during forced assimilation.
Mihaylov shared a conversation with MP Mustafa Emin about the poor Pomak areas, where people live in fear due to repeated attempts - 13 times over 100 years - to change their names. Reflecting on history, Mihaylov recalled how before 1989 Bulgarian Muslims were well-educated and prosperous, with livelihoods based on tobacco farming. However, after forced name changes, many sold their homes and fled to Turkey seeking freedom.
He said those who stood up then formed a party to defend those stripped of their rights. Now, he claims, MRF and GERB repress people just like the past oppressors. Mihaylov criticized MRF for suspending social services to a Bulgarian Muslim woman who voted against local expectations, symbolizing a new form of soul-taking from the community.
He urged Bulgarian Muslims to unite once again to resist repression and restore justice in society.
