The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) issued on its website a red code alert for intense precipitation on Sunday. The dangerous weather warning is in force for the districts of Blagoevgrad, Pazardzhik and Smolyan.
An orange code alert was declared in eight districts: Kyustendil, SofiaProvince, Vratsa, Pleven, Lovech, Gabrovo, Plovdiv and Kardzhali.
There is also a yellow code warning for six districts: Pernik, Sofia, Ruse, Veliko Tarnovo, Stara Zagora and Haskovo.
There are no dangerous weather warnings issued for the other districts of the country.
Under the influence of a Mediterranean cyclone passing through the Aegean Sea, the weather situation in the country will be complicated, according to the NIMH forecast. The weather will be mostly cloudy with widespread, in many places significant precipitation. Moderate winds will blow from the north-northwest, in eastern areas from the northeast. Lows will be in a wide range from 8C-10C in western areas to 20C-22C in the southeast and along the Black Sea coast.
