President Radev Hosts Traditional Reception on Occasion of Slav Letters Day

“It is an honour to be your host on the day of the holiest, most beloved Bulgarian holiday, President Rumen Radev said in his welcoming remarks at a traditional reception hosted by the head of State and his wife, Desislava Radeva, on the occasion of May 24 - the Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, of the Bulgarian alphabet, education and culture and of Slavonic literacy. The event was held at the National History Museum in Sofia and was attended by public figures, activists of culture, education and science, MPs, constitutional judges, journalists.

Among the guests are also representatives of Bulgarian media from abroad, participants in the 20th World Meeting of Bulgarian Media, organized by BTA.

"I am glad to see so many distinguished Bulgarians in one place. People who shape the image of our society with their talent, dedication and personal presence," the head of State said in his address.

Bulgaria is recognizable and appreciated for its contribution to the future, and Bulgarians impress with their strength of spirit and innovativeness, and with their scientific achievements, President Radev added.

“That is why today, from the small rural school to our most prestigious universities and academies, we stand united with admiration for enlightenment and knowledge and with the belief that our homeland will survive,” he said.
