site.btaWarning for Heavy Rain, Thunderstorms on Saturday Issued across 20 Regions

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology issued a warning on Friday for significant precipitation, thunderstorms and hailstorms in 20 regions of the country. This is visible on the map with the warning codes for dangerous weather, published on the Institute’s website.

There is a yellow code warning for May 24 which applies to 16 regions and an orange warning code has been issued for Sofia region, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv and Stara Zagora.

In the next 48 hours, under the influence of Mediterranean cyclones, which will slowly pass through the southern regions of the Balkan Peninsula and the straits to the Black Sea, the weather situation in the country will become complicated. Significant rainfall is expected in many places, in some areas exceeding the monthly norms for May, the Institute warns.
