Monday will start sunny, then turn cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly over the mountains and in Northern Bulgaria.

Wind light to moderate west-northwesterly, temporarily strong in the north. Highs: 20C-25C, 21C in Sofia.

The coast: sunny morning, clouding over in the afternoon with brief rain and thunder by evening. Wind light, moderate south-westerly on the north coast. Highs: 20C-23C. Sea water temperature: 14C-17C; sea waves: 2-3 degrees Douglas.

The mountains: sunny before noon, then showers and thunderstorms, chiefly in the western ranges and along the Balkan ridge. Wind strong west-northwesterly. Highs: 14C at 1,200 m, 8C at 2,000 m.
