 "We will support the lifting of [MPs'] immunities," MRF – New Beginning leader Delyan Peevski told journalists in Parliament here on Wednesday in response to a question about acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov's request for permission to initiate criminal proceedings against members of Parliament, as outlined in the draft weekly program of the National Assembly.

"This game has crossed all boundaries—let’s see who will support protecting criminals," Peevski said. However, he stated that this is not the main issue, but rather that "nothing is happening in this Parliament."

"I expect the ruling trio [GERB, the Socialists and There Is Such a People] to present a working programme for the National Assembly; I expect the Council of Ministers and Prime Minister Zhelyazkov to provide a governance program for Bulgaria," Peevski commented. He identified the high prices in stores, which he described as being 15% higher in Bulgaria than in Europe, as a problem. He also mentioned issues with water supply, lack of kindergartens and unemployment.

"I urge everyone to start working for the people," he stated.

There will be no early elections, Peevski said, adding that he will not allow Bulgaria to be thrown into the abyss.
