The wife of detained MP candidate Dzheyhan Ibryamov, Birshen Ibryamova, told journalists on Thursday evening that her husband will be escorted to the National Investigative Service. She noted that she will then go in front of the National Assembly building where she will declare a hunger strike until his release.

Earlier in the day, the Central Election Commission adopted a decision to grant permission under Article 160 para. 1 of the Election Code to detain or bring as an accused a candidate for MP. The decision was in connection with a request received from the Prosecution Office. 13 members of the CEC voted in favour

Shortly afterwards, Parliament Chair Raya Nazaryan authorized the lifting of the immunity of Dzheyhan Ibryamov.
