The Cardiology Department of Burgas Hospital will have a new angiography room with modern equipment, with which invasive diagnostics and treatment of cardiovascular diseases can be carried out, the press center of the hospital said on Tuesday.

The hospital underwent extensive renovations to prepare the premises for the deployment of the equipment. Until now, cardiologists had to share an angiography room with the Vascular Surgery Department on the first floor and had to move the patients to and from the fourth floor, said Dr. Svetoslav Gogov, Head of the Cardiology Department.

The modern angiographic device from a renowned Japanese manufacturer was purchased with funding from the Health Ministry. Leading cardiology clinics in Europe and the world are equipped with similar equipment, the hospital noted. One of the biggest advantages of the device is the lower radiation doses to the patient, which can be monitored.

The Cardiology Department of Burgas Hospital has eight cardiology specialists, with three more specialists being in training, together with fourth and fifth year medical students.
