site.btaSofia Budget for 2024 Is Adopted
The Sofia Municipal Council on Thursday adopted the budget of the capital for 2024. 45 councillors voted in favour, and 15 were against.
The budget was supported by the groups of GERB-UDF and Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria. Against the proposed budget were the groups of BSP for Bulgaria, There Is Such a People" and Vazrazhdane. Carlos Contrera, a municipal councillor from VMRO, joined the "no" votes.
The budget needed 31 votes out of 61 councillors to be adopted.
Sofia Municipality's budget for 2024 will be a record BGN 2.576 billion compared with BGN 2.564 billion for 2023.
