On this date in Bulgarian history:

1916: Bulgarian troops march into Bucharest during World War I.

1918: First standing operetta theatre, Free Theatre, is inaugurated in Sofia with performance of Kalman's "Die Csardasfurstin".

1991: Bulgaria recognizes Ukraine's independence.

1996: Association of Privatization Funds is set up (Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association since June 6, 1998). 

2000: Dimitar Peshev International Foundation established in Sofia to make known Peshev's contribution to rescue of Bulgarian Jews during World War II (1939-1945).
