The number of flu and acute respiratory infections is on the rise. The highest morbidity rate as of November 19 was reported in the regions of Pazardzhik, Shumen and Gabrovo, show data published Monday by the National Centre of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases.

The infection rate in the region of Pazardzhik is 252 per 10,000 people, in Shumen it is 229 per 10,000, in Gabrovo – 227 per 10,000. The lowest morbidity is reported in Sofia, where there are 24 infections per 10,000 people.

Each regional health inspectorate has the power to decide whether and when to declare a flu epidemic on its territory.

Increased COVID-19 morbidity is reported in the region of Pernik, where the rate is between 60 and 120 per 100,000 people. The lowest rate was reported in Kurdzhali – 7 people per 100,000, the date.
