site.btaRadev: Grave Compromises in Cabinet Formation Imply Risks, Insecurity
President Rumen Radev walked out of the National Assembly before Bulgaria's newly elected Cabinet took the oath of office on Tuesday.
"Bulgaria clearly must have a regular government and a working parliament, but this Government was formed amidst exceedingly grave compromises which affect the very foundations of democracy and of morality in politics. This implies risks and insecurity," the head of State explained to journalists on his way out of Parliament.
Asked why he refused to attend the Cabinet's oath, Radev said he had taken the same oath and cannot accept that it is pronounced just going through the motions.
