GERB leader Boyko Borissov voted Sunday in Sofia using a paper ballot. He said that he expects a higher turnout, but he stressed that it will take a lot of wisdom from politicians, for it is the only way out of the crisis according to him.
"Today it is easy, tomorrow it becomes difficult," Borissov told journalists. He said that it will be difficult tomorrow and the day after tomorrow with this galloping inflation, prices, huge debts.
Borissov is convinced there must be a government "if we don't want to commit suicide as a nation." He said it would be a disaster for the country if a ruling majority could not be formed. That is why he is prepared to compromise. According to the GERB leader, a strong coalition must be formed first. Before a government is formed, no priorities can be discussed, he added.
Borissov confirmed that he will be a MP while negotiations for a cabinet are underway.
