site.btaBulgaria Wins Five Gold, Three Silver and Seven Bronze in Informatics Tournament
Bulgaria is back on the world competitive informatics stage with five gold, three silver and seven bronze medals won at the John Atanasoff 14th International Autumn Tournament in Informatics, held in Shumen November 23-27. The tournament was held under the auspices of President Rumen Radev with the media support of BTA, the Chair of the tournament’s organizing committee and head of the A and B private school of mathematics and informatics, Biserka Yovcheva, told a news conference hosted by the BTA club here on Monday.
The Bulgarian senior team contestants won four gold, one silver and three bronze medals, while the juniors carried off one gold, two silver and four bronze, Yovcheva said.
The contestants from Shumen won five out of all 15 medals for Bulgaria.
Some 400 contestants from 17 countries took part in this year’s edition of the competition. For the first time, there were teams from Peru, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Great Britain, Yovcheva said.
