Customs inspectors at the border checkpoint in Silistra, on the Danube, intercepted an illegal shipment of 5.1 million cigarettes on Monday evening after a check of a truck with a Romanian registration, the Customs Agency said on Tuesday. The cigarettes, which did not have a Bulgarian excise duty stamp, were found in the front end of the trailer, on 17 pallets. According to its customs declaration, the truck was carrying sanitary supplies.
