site.btaThracian Viper 2022 Multinational Flying Training Begins


The Bulgarian Air Force has started a multinational flying training codenamed "Thracian Viper," involving aircraft of the Royal Canadian Air Force, the Hellenic Air Force, the Romanian Air Force and the US Air Forces in Europe. The training will continue until August 19, the Bulgarian Air Force said on its official Facebook page on Monday.
Joint flights and air defence missions will be conducted in Bulgarian airspace. The principal objective of the training is to prepare the Allied forces for participation in NATO missions.
The Bulgarian Air Force participates in the military exercise with troops and MiG-29 fighters of the Graf Ignatievo Air Base, Su-25 jets of the Bezmer Air Base, and AS-532 Cougar helicopters of the Krumovo Air Base. They will perform air defence and aeromedical evacuation tasks. Bulgarian Land Forces troops will also take part in the training.
