Parliament, on Wednesday, voted 196-0 to adopt at first reading an amendment to the budget extension act, increasing the minimum old-age pension for pensionable service from EUR 322.37 to EUR 347.51 as of July 1.

The purpose is to ensure that under the conditions of an extended budget pensioners receiving minimum labour pensions can receive a pension adjustment of 7.8% together along with all other pensioners.

Parliament also approved a five-day deadline for submitting proposals between the first and second reading of the bill.
