President Issues Decrees on New Ambassadors to Malta and Cabo Verde

Presidential decrees issued by President Iliana Iotova appointing Bulgarian ambassadors to Malta and Cabo Verde were promulgated in an extraordinary issue of the State Gazette on Wednesday.

Ivan Kondov, currently Bulgaria’s Ambassador to Italy, will also be appointed Ambassador to Malta, based in Rome. Todor Stoyanov is relieved of his duties as ambassador to Malta.

Elena Shekerletova, currently Bulgaria’s Ambassador to Portugal, will also serve as Ambassador to Cabo Verde, based in Lisbon. Ivan Naydenov is relieved of his duties as ambassador to Cabo Verde.

The latest issue of the State Gazette also published a presidential decree awarding Prof. Aleksandar Andonov the Order of Sts Cyril and Methodius, First Class, and Dr Sigrun Comati the Order of Sts Cyril and Methodius, Collar.

Andonov is honoured for his contributions to education, while Comati is recognized for her merits in the development and promotion of Bulgarian culture, education and science in Germany.

The extraordinary issue also promulgated the presidential decree convening the first sitting of the newly elected 52nd National Assembly at 10:00 a.m. on April 30.
