The Information Services company provided live broadcasting and video recordings of the ballot counting after the end of election day in a total of 11,635 voting sections, or 99.83% of all section election commissions (SECs) that fall under the requirements for video broadcasting, the company said on Monday.

Bulgaria held early parliamentary elections on April 19.

This time, the number is 41 more section election commissions compared with the previous parliamentary elections in October 2024 and represents a high record since the introduction of video surveillance, the press release added. Recordings are missing from only 19 sectional election commissions.

The video surveillance platform, maintained by Information Services, was visited by more than 310,000 users after the end of election day, showing a 164% higher level of interest compared with the previous elections. A total of 11,493 section election commissions broadcast live the counting of ballots after the end of election day, which is also a record since the introduction of video broadcasting and video surveillance.

"The team of Information Services completed the computer processing of tally sheets and their rechecking in record time as early as April 21, well ahead of the deadlines set in the Election Code," said Executive Director Ivaylo Filipov, as quoted in the press release. According to him, this was yet another election in which the company fulfilled its commitments to the electoral process "with extremely high quality and within the deadlines".

To facilitate section election commissions, Information Services developed the mobile application eProtocol, designed for validating data from SEC tally sheets and enabling civic oversight of the work of the electoral administration. The application was downloaded 21,000 times and helped significantly reduce errors in the preparation of tally sheets by SECs, the company said.

For the latest elections, Information Services also developed and presented an interactive visualization of the methodology used to calculate election results and allocate mandates among parties, coalitions and independent candidates.
